Massachusetts and federal laws prohibit discrimination in employment based on an employee’s race, color or national origin. An employer may not subject an employee to an adverse employment action based on any of these three factors.
Discrimination in employment based on race can take many difference forms. For example, an employee may be subject to race based discrimination in employment when they are treated differently than employees of a different race; i.e. a disparate treatment claim, or an employee may be subject to racial discrimination in employment when they are forced to work in an environment pervaded by race based harassment or abuse.
